My name is Mustafa, and I am running to be your student representative because I believe in YOU and the decisions YOU will make with me as your representative. So why me? One reason: as a working student myself, I understand the challenges you face every day. I know what you feel and what you desire to change, and I am going to be your fellow traveller towards that change.

From securing screenings for sports events to finding bike/car parking, from going hungry because you don’t have time or you don’t have money to waiting endlessly for services access—I hear you, I feel you.

I know for us students finding a source of income sometimes becomes an existential question. I will advocate for more on-campus employment opportunities. I will push for expanded hardship funding, affordable housing and transportation, and better mental health services with faster appointments. To my international friends, I know what it’s like to adjust to a new environment, overcome financial struggles, and manage the insecurity of time. I know the restrictions you face, and I will fight for you.

Our struggles and joys are shared. If there is one lesson we can draw from humanity’s survival on this planet, it is that we survive together or we don’t. It is only through our collective spirit can we foster inclusion, reject hate, and strengthen our bonds. I will strongly advocate for a zero-tolerance policy against racial, gender and religious discrimination. I believe education should allow us to maintain a work-life balance, so I will work for hybrid learning options while campaigning for a greener campus.

Most importantly, I will ensure students are involved in decision-making—because no policy should be made about us, without us.
