My Manifesto

My name is Chinaenyenwa Ugo, known as “NENNY”. I am a student of Master's in Public Health. My dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, both home and international, led me to serve as a Class Representative for MPH and the Vice-President of the GCU LGBO Society. I am also a very active member of the GCU Student Voice. I am committed to bridging gaps, promoting inclusivity, and driving positive change to ensure every student has access to the resources and support needed to thrive.

Addressing Immediate Needs:

  • Push for earlier resit dates to prevent delays in graduation and avoid negative impacts on student term time and visas.
  • Lobby for reduction in the number of physical lecture days to help students and lecturers maintain a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal life well-being.
  • Engage with the university for students to easily appeal grades they believe are unmerited, ensuring fairness and transparency.
  • Work with the accommodation department to provide temporary housing for new students on both campuses upon arrival.

KEY PRIORITIES:

  • Lobby for diverse, affordable, and culturally inclusive meals on campuses, ensuring every student enjoys quality dining at lower prices.
  • Advocate for improved classroom ergonomics to create a more conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Push for more protection and support for disabled students.
  • Lobby for tailored resources and support for undergraduates.
  • Lobby for more mental health facilities in both campuses.
  • Unite home and international students through joint projects and social events, creating shared experiences and meaningful connections.
  • Strengthen educational initiatives to address and prevent discrimination.
  • Support student-led projects focused on sustainability, social justice, and community outreach.
  • Lobby the management for cleaner toilets.

Vote "NENNY" as your FIRST-CHOICE candidate for a more inclusive GCU for all!
