My name is Jennifer Camarena, and I am a postgraduate student in Fashion and Lifestyle Marketing at Glasgow Caledonian University. I am running for the position of a Full Time Officer at GCU’s Students' Association and am looking for your support.

This is important for me because it will allow me the opportunity to be a voice and representative of students at GCU, focusing on empowering and uniting students through the implementation of diversity, inclusion, and opportunities.

I plan to apply my diverse academic and professional background to help create opportunities, break down barriers, and ensure all students are supported with all the resources they may need to succeed. If elected, I will focus on the following objectives:

Priority 1: Building Career Opportunities for Everyone

I will work to ensure students have access to plentiful resources, mentorships, and industry connections to develop their careers. Whether it is applying real-world experiences, building skills, or internships I will make sure our students have enough resources to help them succeed.

Priority 2: Championing an Inclusive Space

I will push for more awareness initiatives and student-led conversations to ensure there is no discrimination and students have a safe and supportive space to succeed. This will also include enforcing policies to make students feel valued and empowered at a university that celebrates diversity.

Priority 3: Advocating for Flexible Learning

To be inclusive, education should fit the needs of all students. I will work towards creating a space where administration and students can come together to balance in-person and flexible online learning to receive maximum support.
