Chinenye-NENNY

NENNY FOR CONTINUITY!!

Hello GCU,

I am Chinenye, popularly known as NENNY, your current Vice President and your candidate for Student President.

Over the past year, I’ve not just held a title, I’ve delivered results individually and as part of a team.

  • Renewed free gym and MUGA access within three months in office, saving every GCU student £15 per month.
  • Successfully lobbied for Priority Marking and PAB across SHLS, GSBS, SSE and London campus, protecting student progression including those on VISA timelines.
  • Secured a 20% increase in alumni-funding for sports clubs and societies.
  • National student housing right lobbying secured student-focused amendments, Secured GCU Rent Guarantor Scheme
  • Worked with the University to revise the Generative AI framework
  • Co-launched UNIFORCE Scotland initiative with four universities to strengthen GCU students’ employability skills
  • Supported EDI initiatives across both campuses: Islamophobia Awareness(mosque tour), EHRC Statement, Diwali celebration
  • Contributed to the university Mental-Health Charter
  • Your safety matter, we implemented visible measures to reduce sexual-harassment in both campuses.
  • Policy to keep Wednesday afternoons lecture-free for sports and extracurricular-activities, a dedicated sensory space, clearer student-consultation processes, embedding of AI into relevant parts of learning and teaching, and Better Buses for Strathclyde are already in motion.

As PRESIDENT, my focus is on continuity and completion. I will continue lobbying the university for;

  • Increased funding, facilities and tailored support for sports and societies
  • Improved timetabling policies to balance academics and extracurricular commitments.
  • Exemption letters for students representing GCU in sports and other activities
  • Faster resit timelines
  • Dedicated session on the GCU app for London students including an “Attend Graduation in Glasgow option”
  • Stronger wellbeing and cost-of-living support
  • Deeper employer partnerships to expand student's career pathways.
  • Support more student-led projects

This is leadership built on action, relationships, and results, Let’s finish what we started and go even further.

Vote NENNY.
