Funding Opportunities for Societies

Funding League

This funding is distributed automatically at the beginning of each academic year. Societies are judged based on their performance in the previous year across the following areas:

  • Registered for the coming year by the deadline
  • Society Pack submitted on time
  • All Committee members attended Committee Training
  • Evidence of Self-Funding
  • At least 3 events created on the Students’ Association website

Societies that perform well in all these areas will receive the maximum available funding. The actual amount varies each year based on the number of societies and the overall budget.

Dragons’ Den

The Dragons’ Den fund allows societies to apply for funding for specific events or products. This process includes submitting an application and delivering a short presentation to Societies Council.

Start-up Funding

Newly affiliated societies automatically receive a grant from the Societies Council to help them get started.

Other Opportunities

Throughout the year, there may be additional chances to secure funding, such as through the GCU Common Good Fund or Go Green Week. The Societies Coordinator will notify you when these are available.
