Most other universities have their exam diet before the December break, which although creates a stressful month, allows their students to enjoy their time off. However, with the exams and assessments being due in Januray we are unable to enjoy our time off. For example, in my course, my last assignment in December was in the last few days before coming off and I have one of the first assignments in January. This means I am unable to relax and enjoy my break but have two weeks off in January after exams and before semester two. This two week break is not as enjoyable since friends and family will be back at work/classes. So I have to study when my friends/family have annual leave but am alone in my break. Additionally, the universitiy is shut between 22nd Dec-4th of Jan meaning most staff won't be replying to messages (rightfully so as it is their time off) however, this makes assignments especially challenging as you cannot contact staff for help.
