The GCU European Society proudly represented Glasgow Caledonian University at the 7th EU - UK Youth Dialogue, held last week at Newcastle University. The society’s President and Founder, Mordecai Akoh, and Secretary, Denys Lukii, attended the event alongside student leaders and delegates from across the United Kingdom and Europe.
During the dialogue, GCU was officially welcomed as the 31st member of the European Affairs Societies Network, joining the ranks of institutions such as the University of Liverpool and Royal Holloway, University of London.
This milestone marks a significant achievement for the GCU European Society, expanding its network and opening the door to exciting new opportunities, including participation in the EU Publishing Scheme and potential collaboration with the Erasmus Student Network (currently active at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde).
Unlike a typical student group, the GCU European Society is part of a wider initiative supported by the Delegation of the European Union to the United Kingdom. The society aims to connect students with European affairs, foster dialogue, and promote international cooperation.
Membership is free and open to all GCU students, regardless of course or background. Find out more about the GCU European Society
All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
