Go Green Week – Funding Opportunity!

Monday 04-12-2017 - 15:05

As part of the 2018 Go Green Week (GGW18) GCU's Sustainability Officer (sustainbility@gcu.ac.uk) and  GCU Students Association would like to invite all GCU Student Association Societies, Media Groups, Sports Clubs and Liberation/Representation Groups to submit proposals to host events/activities to encourage the wider GCU community to reflect on, adopt or celebrate sustainable lifestyles.

Following from this, any student group who submits an idea may have the opportunity to organise an event for the Glasgow Goes Green Festival. The festival is a student led event, and is in collaboration with all of Glasgow’s four universities. More information can be found here; https://www.facebook.com/gogreenweekglasgow/

An example of an event which may be eligible for funding could include a student group hosting a live debate on ethical and environmental issues. If you’d like to discuss your idea before submitting a proposal please contact Rachel Simpson at VP.GSBS@GCUstudents.co.uk or the university sustainability officer at sustainability@gcu.ac.uk for support.

Please see the terms and conditions below and more information on how to apply for this.

Terms & Conditions:

1. Events/activities must be held between 12-18 February 2018

2. Only events/activities agreed with GCU's Sustainability Officer will be funded.

3. Reasonable expenses, agreed in advance with GCU's Sustainability Officer will be funded, provided societies/clubs can evidence expenditure (through receipts - for avoidance of doubt, card payment receipts alone will not be accepted).

4. The max. £50/£100 payments for events/activities held at GCU/GGG (respectively) will only be paid once GCU's Sustainability Officer is satisfied that the event took place (acceptable evidence will be agreed with individual societies/clubs). A form to provide evidence will be made available with the proposal form.

5. GCU's Sustainability Officer reserves the right to award a different amount than the max. £50/£100 payments listed about. This will be discussed with each society prior to a commitment being made to support an event/activity.

6. Payments will be made through the GCU Students Association.

Please contact sustainability@gcu.ac.uk if you have any questions/require more information or would like to discuss your plans with GCU's Sustainability Officer.
