GCU Students’ Association hosted its latest Academic Rep Gathering on Wednesday 12th November. It was an opportunity for our FTOs, PGT Reps, PGR Reps, and Class Reps to come together and network with senior university staff, as well as develop skills & strategies to effectively represent the voice of every GCU student.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Education Louise Dixon introduced the event, giving a warm welcome to staff and students. Reps and staff then had the opportunity to connect over a networking lunch, discussing students' thoughts across the university, the academic learning they’re experiencing, and how they can continue building upon improvements to ehance students’ lives.
To equip students with skills to help them thrive in their role and beyond, two development sessions were held after the networking lunches. Sara MacLean, Student Voice Team Leader, delivered a development session on how Reps can make the most out of 'Pause for Feedback' data; and Ellie Neilson, Academic Rep Coordinator, held a session guiding students on how to master public speaking.
The turnout was fantastic, both from staff and students, and we thank all who came along to make the event such a success; the student voice wouldn't be as powerful and transofrmative if it weren't for the wonderful Reps who work to represent all GCU students.

All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
This membership is free for current GCU students.
