Nicole McMahon is an External Trustee at the GCU Students' Association, appointed in February 2025. A proud Glasgow Caledonian University alumna, she graduated in 2014 with a BA (Hons) in Business Studies. During her time at university, she co-founded the GCU Jets (initially a student society before evolving into a sports club) and the GSBS Business Society. She was also actively involved in student life, working as a receptionist in the Students’ Association and contributing to student voice initiatives.
Nicole now brings extensive experience as a HR specialist, holding a CIPD Level 7 qualification in Employment Law. With a career spanning employment law, HR Consultancy for charities, SMEs and larger corporate firms, and workplace relations, she has supported organisations in shaping their people strategies and fostering inclusive workplace cultures. She is particularly passionate about student employability, organisational development, and ensuring equitable experiences for all students.
Nicole is eager to use her expertise to support the Students’ Association in its mission to enhance the student experience and is keen to ensure the student experience is central to our decision-making processes. Through her role as an External Trustee, she aims to contribute to the long-term sustainability, governance, and reputation of the Students' Association.
All students at Glasgow Caledonian University are automatically members of GCU Students' Association.
